Well it appears that sometime last night, Clear Channel's 99.1 translator in Utah county flipped from "The Alternative Project at 99.1" to "Country 99.1". I think that makes the fourth format switch in maybe three years. It's the same routine this time around. Just a re-branded iHeartRadio stream. Thoughts?

CC Tried country a few years back before KNRS went FM on 105.7... It was modeled after My99.5 with the backselling on each song and fully automated. It only lasted a few months, IIRC. Maybe on a much more marginal signal, it will do something....

Well, one of those format flips was upgrading the classic rock format to 106.5, so maybe that doesn't count. From the quick listen I was able to give the new 99.1 it seems more classic country. (Sorry, I'm not much up on country.) That makes sense to me, since classic hasn't been on FM for several years since Citadel spun off 107.5 to EMF. Didn't it do fairly well back then?

The timing of the automation transitions were pretty rough for the few minutes I listened this morning. Perhaps it has to do with the Bobby Bones show... I thought someone, somewhere mentioned RDS, but I didn't see any RDS at all.

105.7 was country from January '08 to January '09 I believe.
