KUTB-LP has applied for their license to convert from analog to digital on channel 18. My digital box is picking up a signal there, but there doesn't appear to be any programming as of now. Keep an eye on it.

You may have noticed that they are using PSIP from Virtual Channel 15 (KUTO), which leads me to believe that they are just retransmitting the data stream from their Logan-area station. They are located on Kessler Peak here in SLC, so I think they are having occasional problems receiving the Logan signal. That would explain why they have no programming at times. Their Logan transmitter is far north of Logan....they have a CP to raise it's power.

Thanks for the info. I still have yet to get anything useful on that channel. My box just sits there and stares at it like a deer caught in the headlights for a while then gives up and moves on. It has the same sort of problem with KPNZ (which doesn't seem to have any PSIP at all) though at least it figures out there's programming there. I also get that sometimes on the decommissioned channels up in the 60's which I guess are cell phone signals that the box is trying to make sense of.
As I understand it, a broadcaster has to use the virtual channel they're assigned. In this case the virtual channel is the same as the physical (18). Wouldn't that make using 15 against the rules?

Yeah, it's hit and miss for me as well.
