My first post...I live in Illinois, and have been "DX'ing" FM skip signals for years. In July 2006, I heard the 100.7 station with greater Salt Lake City ads. I seem to find contradicting information showing them in Brigham City, or Woodruff, at the time. Does anybody know which location is correct?
Is it also correct to assume that the Brigham City and Woodruff (Communities of License) had different antenna sites? With Woodruff far away in Rich County, it implies an antenna location close neither to Woodruff nor to Salt Lake City (if indeed they were programming to SLC as the "Randolph" station on 102.3 is), probably on the Wasatch around Huntsville or similar locale, as they're required to provide city grade to their licensed community, and they would need to do the same into SLC to serve adequately.
I also saw an old thread which said something about them moving back to Brigham City and dropping power substantially??
Very confusing...thank you to anybody who can help unravel where this was when I heard it, and whether I need to be looking for the signal again if it's now in B. C. (If the substantial Community of License move is accompanied by an antenna move, I consider it as two stations.)

First, welcome. Nice to have you here.
Back in July 2006, 100.7 was KEGH and licensed to Brigham City. The transmitter was at the same location that the current KEGH on 106.9 is. It moved to its current site on Humpy Peak (the same location as the 102.3 you mention and a bunch of others) on September 7 2006 and became KYMV. The Humpy Peak stations themselves can't be heard very well at all in the Ogden/Salt Lake City/Provo metro area due to having to go through a lot of mountain to get there. The actual listening in the core of the market is from on channel boosters spread out all along the area.
The dropping power thread you mentioned is for the second version of KEGH. When 100.7 moved away, the callsign and format moved to 106.9. The reason for the power change has to do with an insanely complicated chess game involving moving around a couple of dozen signals in 3 states (at least). If you want to read about that (it's a great cure for insomnia) you can look up Docket 05-243.
Hope that helps.

Nice to hear from fellow FM Skip DXers every once and awhile. If you have any Wyoming questions I might be able to help you with those. Congrats on your skip!
