The consensus in the industry seems to be that Family Radio is in deep financial trouble. That's why they've been unloading stations in some big markets. Philadelphia and Baltimore are already gone and there's a strong rumor that their New York station is about to go as well. They have a station in Salt Lake also, but that's not the same thing. First off it's got a fairly small coverage area, and second it's in the non-commercial band so it can't be changed to commercial like the Philly/Baltimore/NY stations were. Still it's interesting to consider what could happen if the Family Radio ship does sink. Who might buy the station?
As far as I know Utah State still doesn't have a presence in Salt Lake and hasn't since the 96.7 translator mess. I would think they'd still be interested. Friend? Can you comment?
Anything else spring to mind to anyone?

A friend, who used to do some work for them, says that the SLC office of Family Radio handles administrative and programming duties for a bunch (seems like he said nine) markets. I'd suspect that another religious outfit would pick it up. (Of course, they could always shop it to China Radio International )

From what I understand KUFR took over as primary for a bunch of translators back in 2005 when their San Francisco operation exchanged 106.9FM for 610AM there, so that makes sense.

It'd be an easy way back into the SLC market......and being first adjacent to 91.5 doesn't hurt either!
