Oh man, I recognized his voice, but always thought it was Grant Nielsen doing those spots.

Saw this image posted on the KSL Sports Twitter page today. Interesting that the logo for KSL Newsradio only shows the AM freq.

Big Budah has joined the "KSL Today" team on KSL TV. As you'll no doubt notice in the Facebook video, he's wearing a 92.5 The Beat T-shirt while working out. fb.watch/iBzpfNamND/?mibextid=6aamW6So is he tracking mornings on 92.5, or has he left that position?

I noticed a few on-air spots are gone from the U92 website, including the PD "Erockalypse". Maybe changes coming to KUUU?

I've worked in local radio for a number of years, and I always thought stations were missing out on social media advertising. Specifically Facebook ads running to the listening area, with the objective of appointment listening. Costs are a lot less than billboards, and you can actually measure the results. BYU could get their marketing department to run these

Any chance they're preparing to downsize and consolidate?
Even KXRK isn't as strong ratings-wise as it once was, so I can't see ad revenue keeping that big building with all the new studios, equipment and employees afloat for much longer, especially if DLH isn't as involved. Maybe they'll sell a couple frequencies to generate some cash.

KISN 97

Looking at My 99.5's positioning (variety from the 80s, 90s and today) seems very similar to KISN's positioning and format. Anyone recall why Clear Channel decided to move KZHT's format to this frequency and blow up KISN 97? Seems like this demo would be more valuable to advertisers, and I thought KISN was relatively successful.

Just saw this tweet from Hans Olsen announcing The Zone's weekday schedule. "Unrivaled" taking the afternoon drive on 1280/97.5. I know that show was on KSL Newsradio, but had recently been shortened.

I can't see the 1280thezone.com continuing to operate when Bonneville has staff writing for kslsports.com. I suspect we may see merging of the web and social media properties, and maybe branding.

I'm assuming this is some sort of LMA. Will KSL employees now be doing most of the heavy lifting, much like when KJZZ was operated by KSL-TV? Will the Zone studios leave the arena, and everything be operated from existing KSL studios at Triad? Are the Zone engineers still going to maintain the two stations' far-away transmitter sites, or are they all gone now? Lots of questions... Also "The Zone" brand has some cachet in the market, but I wonder if they'll rebrand to "KSL Sports 1280".

Yesterday I was listening to 105.5 FM in the Salt Lake valley.
At the top of the hour, I hear:
"K-U-D-D HD-2 American Fork"
...and that was it.
Is that the correct way to identify?
Shouldn't it be:
K288GY 105.5 FM Tooele, KUDD HD-2 American Fork

Would you agree there's been a drop in local news coverage with Jeff Caplan's show? Going back to the original topic of this thread, it seems like KSL Newsradio is putting more emphasis on talk and entertainment vs a news focused product.

KSL has really scaled back on local news. I tuned in at 5:30 yesterday, and right off the top there was breaking news, and then straight into national stories (Meghan & Prince Harry). A few years ago under the "Utah's Afternoon News" banner there would be 3-4 live reporters working local stories, and they would stack them at the top and bottom of the hour.

One other thought I had is adopting a schedule similar to Bonneville's KTAR in Phoenix.
They run Dave Ramsey, and the way their schedule is they wouldn't need to replace Lonsberry.

Maybe the return of Jay Macfarland? After his run for office, he's been doing a podcast.
