This might make it in the Breaking News section, but Movin' is now Rewind. Playing all 80's it appears.

Oh, so we missed the countdown and everything already, I guess. Right?
Thanks for posting that, though!

Well, this is a rebranding for sure. Movin was shifting that way for a while to get out of the way of Mix 107.9 and I think this pretty much finishes it. What I don't understand is why in the middle of all of these 80's songs they throw in Katy Perry or Maroon 5. Very weird. So far no change at Jack-FM. They're very heavily 80's too and it doesn't make sense to keep that. Of course Simmons is trying to sell 103.1 so that might be coming soon. I think there were a few more points I had before proboards ate my post, but I'll just end now by pointing out the new Rewind website is at www.rewind1007.com

I'm so not digging it at all. I'm already amused that stuff on the rewind1007 website still says movin1007. (the facebook functionality, the listener Advisory board ad,photos with movin in them.) Way to go Simmons team, nice way to make sure your branding is synchronous! I hope for the love of all that is holy they do some major tweaking of the music, way too much crappy 80's. (there is 80's that is multiple times better) I also love how they could not be imaginative enough to get new jingles, all they could do is chop up the old ones and drop new wording in. I may not work in the industry, but for the love of pete, if your gonna take your station in a direction, then at least make it fresh and new, not just the same stale packaging with a different voice and a playlist of sub-hits. <rant complete>

I kind of get this, actually, sort of as a way to keep those looking for new music interested. Oldies formats are safe, they're just not sexy - playing a current or a recurrent once or twice an hour spices it up, at least a little bit.
