www.ksl.com/index.php?nid=675&sid=9118703The story neglects the many other Salt Lake area stations doing something for needy people. Maybe they just don't care. X96 was at this event (and in 2nd place as far as donations) and the article mentions nothing of it. Of course KSL is going to only report its sister stations. They don't care about the others, they only care that their stations get recognition (and that it helps them in the ratings). After all KSL.com is one of the most visited sites in the state, why not brag. Examples I can give about other stations giving this season? X96 is doing "The Road Home" KBER is giving toys to needy families on top of giving a car to a needy family earlier today (one of the best imho) Z-Rock is donating clothing etc. to certain charities. A number of others are giving toys to the Marines for Toys for Tots. Why not report on these? Here is what I would do. My story would be a comprehensive accurate report of what each station is doing (has done) this year and the benefits. You can then say something to the effect of very few other radio station markets give this much back to the community. My guess would be that they would only mention themselves as the sole giver. Talk about lying to your listeners. Am I the only one that has a problem with this one sided reporting? Is there something bigger behind this whole thing?

It was explained to us (at KSL) that it was a continuation of a tradition that Simmons started when they owned Star 102.7, Arrow, and FM100. The two stations decided to continue it, together.
