I'm hearing that Curtis Sliwa is leaving Citadel to work for Salem Communications. This also means the end of his Citadel syndicated show, which is heard on Citadel's Big Talker 860 here. His replacement in New York is going to be John Batchelor, but it's unclear if that show will be syndicated like Sliwa's was. My guess is yes at least for now. There's not a lot of time to get a new show on air.

I wish I wish they would allow someone local to fill in a spot on that channel. If it really is "Utah"'s big talker, why not have someone FROM Utah do the talking. It would look good against Doug Wright.

It's going to be somewhere between very difficult and impossible to unseat Doug Wright, but I think I see what you mean. You mean getting respectability as a force people will respect, right? That's doable of course, but finding the talent is the devil in the details. I'd rather have a talented syndicated show than an untalented local one. Talented local trumps all.

More information on Sliwa's future. I'm told that for now his syndicated show will continue. He just won't be on WABC in NYC.
