KSOP has done a "no repeat workday" for several years now, but that seems to be out the window in this new PPM world.
I'm not complaining... they still play the best "gold" recent country I've heard and occasional oldies and take requests and have live people that are cordial in the studio, but it kind of sucks that I've heard a few repeats today. (but I'm listening heavy deep also) Seems the hits are rotating up a bit more than where they used to be.

Other noted changes include more sweepers between songs, instead of DJs announcing. They recently got their Title and Artist info streaming on RDS.
CJ is doing great in PMDrive! Even though they don't subscribe to Arbitron, they're still making needed tweeks!
Interesting. I love KSOP and find following them great as they are a big-time station owned privately and not beholden to bean counters in some other state. It's cool to see them make changes to better themselves and the radio landscape in general.
(aside from all that, they still use an old Omnia 3FM.Hot and sound incredible!)

We actually still do that contest, its always been on Monday between 9am and 5pm ;D.. also that is one thing the Hitons want is a live DJ in the studio so thats a plus for this place.. Tim as for the processor its actually a Omnia.fm.hot, it is before the Omnia's 3, which I like the sound better than the 3.. Why change what sounds good lol  Thanks for the compliments!! |

From what I hear and what I've heard, KSOP is no longer 104point3 the cowboy, but are now 1043 the cowboy. I imagine they are waiting for the new imaging to arrive, but they've edited the "point" out of many jingles and liners. Most sound acceptable but some are ehh...
The what I've heard part is they are looking to upgrade to a hot new processor very soon.
Love to see some movement. LOVE seeing a small, independent doing the moving in this market!

FM100.3 stuck a tail on their liners how long ago and they still haven't gotten new ones? |
