They're also screening "A Christmas Carol" on Nov 2. fm100.com/public/contest/listing/43If they were going to go Christmas, wouldn't it make more sense to just lead out of the Soft Sunday Sounds?

What would be nice is if they wait until Thanksgiving and then start by playing only 25% Christmas music, and then increase it by 25% each week.

Walmart disagrees. Of course they've been selling Christmas stuff for a while now, but they're moving to on-air too. There were several holiday themes commercials during Fox's World Series coverage tonight.
Meanwhile KOSY, er, Today's 106.5 is saying that the Christmas music is coming "soon", whatever that means.
I think it will be interesting this year with the PPM's in play. I was wondering this morning whether some people were still reporting in their diaries listening to their usual station after the Christmas flip even though they'd actually changed to another station. If there were those phantom listeners added to real listeners who actually do want Christmas music this early, that could skew the numbers. That won't happen with PPM.

I don't know how long it has been going on but KSFI HD-2 is currently carrying Christmas music...

Hard to get in the mood for the holidays when tempatures here in Tahoe are in the high 60's and I'm sure SLC is the same way. I guess we should enjoy it because it'll be cold and snowy any day now and Christmas music will be nice but not until after Thanksgiving anyways
