I was reviewing the primetime listings for Friday when I noticed that Great Performances is featuring a performance by The Police.
The Police? You mean that 80's rock band?
Yep. Those Police.
This must mean that the pledge drive is still going on, right? That's the only time they trot out pop culture stuff. The rest of the year, it's the real stuff. I guess PBS has to try to stay afloat too, but abandoning ship isn't really going to help much. I think PBS is becoming more irrelevant every day. Much of what they do is covered adaquately by commercial networks. Much of what they don't a)isn't all that popular anyway and b)seems to be on its way out the door.
