KODJ is way up. So is KBZN, KSOP FM, and KAAZ. KENZ is up a bit as well. KBYU is down, so is KUBL, and KBER lost an equivalent to what KAAZ gained. The FM stream for the Zone seems to hold steady, no x96 stream. i'm surprised that the Zone is not only as low as it is, but that KALL is ahead of it in the ratings. What with the jazz in the playoffs and all.

Nobody should EVER make any assumptions about the future of a station, let alone a format, based on a single month. Since X96's numbers started being reported again they have been consistently well above this month's number. If they stay that low then we have a discussion. I'm also not sure that all is right with the PPM encoding, but that's beyond anything we can check. We do know that whatever stream numbers they have are now included in the main number.
The exact opposite happened to KODJ who posted a really big gain. If you look at this whole year you see that their numbers are consistently up and down every other month. This month just happened to be a bit bigger. But, looking at their numbers from last year there was also an upward trend in May through Sept and then they started trending downward again. Call it the Summer Lift. That might be repeating this year.
KSL dropped down again as did KBYU. That seems to lend credence to the theory that Conference had something to do with last month's numbers, but there seem to be a number of anomalies this month besides X96 and KODJ. The numbers just seem weird across multiple stations.
I was waiting to see what impact the removal of the Utah County 103.9 translator from Kool-FM would have and the answer seems to be - none. That could be an anomaly too where the impact was cancelled out by an unusual upward trend but I'm just going to give them the win unless new evidence comes in.
Not showing a bump in KZNS' ratings surprises me too. I would have definitely thought there would be. I don't get it. Too much presence on TV??

Tying the X96 low ratings discussion to Throwback Thursday I'd like to direct your attention to the threads here here here and here when it seemed like some were ready to sign KSL's death certificate. I think they came back OK.

I guess no one at Broadway Media bothered to tell Nielsen about the change in KYMV's format. Of course, not much DID change. Maybe a little more hit focused and a little newer.

I'm not getting it. It was Adult Hits before and it still is. What was there to change?

I think the reference to a change to KYMV was from Rewind to Bob FM. I would say the playlist on Bob is definitely, at least somewhat, different than it was on Rewind--more "classic rock" and 90s tracks to go with the 80s.

I should have said change in branding instead of change in format.

I'd be interested to know what's happened with the ratings for KSOP-AM. 1370 has shown up in almost every ratings period for several years now, but the last time they had a measurable rating was in March 2021. If the KSOP-AM listeners didn't migrate to the station's HD2 channel, what happened to them? Did they become part of the share for KSOP-FM's ratings, which have increased in the last two ratings periods? More importantly, do the ratings for KSOP-FM include their HD2 channel which rebroadcasts 1370? I just think it's strange that a station which has consistently had a measurable rating suddenly disappeared.
