First there was Mills Crenshaw and Jim Kirkwood, and then Joe Redburn who passed away last year. Now, some more sad news for those who remember what I call the golden years of KTKK 630: Donald Packard, a/k/a Golden Delicious, has passed away. Not many K-TALK hosts of that era are still alive; I'm not sure if Martin Davies or Bob Lesh are still with us. www.legacy.com/obituaries/saltlaketribune/obituary.aspx%3fn=donald-packard&pid=198983509

Those names all sound familiar, but I can't put a voice to any of them in my head.
There used to be a British-sounding guy on 1010 KIQ around twenty years ago who was fun to listen to. Was he among the bunch?

Yes, the British sounding guy was Martin Davies. He was on KTKK for several years, and then moved over to 1010 when it was known as KIQ.

I got to work with Mills, Joe, and Martin in the KWUN and KIQ days. I loved listening to Martin and the Weasel of the Week show. Radio was a lot easier to get excited about in those days. I missed most of the "golden years" of KTKK. I really started following it when Mills, Joe, and Martin moved to KCNR in the 90s and I actually did a weekend show on KWUN through its entire run and a Sunday afternoon show on KIQ (KIQN was its actual call sign but it went by KIQ.) We've even lost some of their supporting cast. I think Cindy Weasel Babe started with Martin on KWUN and then moved with him to KIQ. Her name was Cindy White and she and I became pretty good friends and sang together at several shows. We drifted and I found out years later that she was killed in a motorcycle accident. Another one I worked with at KWUN was Kay Henry. She died not long after KWUN's demise. I actually went to her funeral. Lots of great listening and talking back then. RIP Golden!
