Does anyone know who the engineer for KLO/Capital Broadcasting is? For the past several months, KLO has been having issues with keeping its over the air signal on the air. In the past month, the station has gone off the air for no apparent reason (inclement weather, etc.) at least 3 times, and there are other times when the audio cuts in and out like the studio to transmitter link is failing. I'm not very well versed in the technical aspects of broadcasting, so I'm not sure if it's a transmitter or STL issue. Whatever the issue is, it should probably be fixed before the station starts losing listeners. I'm certainly no expert, but it seems to me that KLO's technical difficulties might be part of the reason why the station hasn't shown up in the last 3-4 ratings books.

KLO is off the air again tonight, and I'm pretty sure it's a transmitter problem. When KLO was supposed to power down for the evening at 8:50 PM Thursday, the station went off the air and is still off as of 9:45 PM. I posted a message on their Facebook page and sent an email to their comments address, which is probably as close as I'll come to getting in touch with the station's engineer. I have to wonder if Capital Broadcasting is having some financial hardships with the recent cutbacks in air staff at KSQN, and the ongoing issues with KLO's transmitter.

The business line is 801-364-9836 for all 3 of their stations.

Thanks for the info; I'll make a note of it for future reference. I doubt there's anyone in the office today since it's a holiday for many businesses. KLO finally came back on the air last night around 10:30, so hopefully someone is monitoring the station a little more closely now.

FWIW, KLO appears to have finally gotten their technical difficulties resolved. The station has been back on the air since Monday, and I haven't noticed any issues with KLO going off the air when the transmitter adjusts power for day and nighttime operation. I suspect the on-call engineer was unavailable over the holiday weekend, and therefore it took a few days to get the transmitter fixed.
