maybe Air1, but I don't know. Something feels off about this whole thing. part of me thinks whatever airs on there could be completely out of left field.

That translator does show up in KEGH's Associated Facilities, but I'm not sure if that's accurate. The listed purchaser, Canyon Media is technically owned (on paper anyway) by Eric Frandsen, Kent's son, but I don't think he is involved with any of the the day-to-day operations down there. He's the Vice President of Cache Valley Media Group in Logan, so as an officer of the company I would think that would complicate simply continuing on with the current setup. Isn't KEGH a Spanish language station?

Yeah KEGH is a Spanish hits format.

Hmm. Air 1 is currently already covered by 89.7 and 88.7 but what if that ties in with my previous idea that KADQ Evanston might be upgraded to a Humpy rimshot? Try this: K252DI flips to a placeholder format of K-Love while KADQ and its boosters are sold to Educational Media Foundation and built out. Then 98.3 segues from K252DI to Air1 on KADQ.
The association of K252DI with KEGH must date back to K252DI's original application in 1995. The notification of change of primary to VFX happened in 2001 when it went on the air. What's now KEGH was 106.9 Brigham City back then. As I recall, VFX was on the old 103.1 Ensign Peak translator and moved to the then-new K252DI when KJQN debuted on 100.7 and 103.1. None of that is currently relevant since the February transfer of control application specifies KKLV as the primary.

VFX is still branding with the 98.3 frequency on its website. Slow to get new logo graphics, or does Cache Valley Media Group know something we don't?

There would still be the 180 watt 98.3 translator in Tremonton, but it's on the same tower as the 11 kw VFX 94.5 booster, not sure how that fills in anything, as such, but it's a 98.3 that was approved. So I guess they could still sell 98.3 as an additional signal, and not have to change logos.

doesn't a station even a rimshot take precedence over a translator? However K252EL could supplement coverage for KADQ from Humpy peak, though would be at a way lower power i'd suspect, and probably a reduced height. plus theres K252DB. If KADQ does move to Humpy, and has a full complement of boosters, then K252DB and maybe K252EL would just be shuddered. I don't think KADQ is moving though. . I know that was in the cards for a long time, but i don't think we'll see any more relocating to humpy peak. Though maybe EMF does buy it and move it after all; and sell/donate 88.7/89.7 to another ministry, along with KUAO to Wasatch, since they would have improved coverage on 98.3. Also no IBOC on KKLV as of 6 or so this morning.

107.5 isn’t HD nor has the equipment to make that happen.

All Access is reporting the sale has closed and the consummation notice was filed today with the FCC. That matches what I'm not hearing. As of now I'm not getting a signal from K252DI. Nothing about it on VFX's Twitter feed, which is odd. I don't think they had any significant ratings in Salt Lake but shouldn't they at least acknowledge it?
They could change the primary station again, but maybe at least for now K-Love might take up residence at 98.3.

I'm stumped. I don't think the translators are worth much if there is a Humpy build-out in the works. They could interfere with the boosters, or add some negligible coverage . I'd be surprised if CVMG didn't want to build out that potential Humpy station themselves, but I don't know. Sometimes money talks, but anything could happen ... it's interesting, no doubt.

Hmmm. That's weird. There was some kind of relationship between CVMG and K-Love at some point, since another K-Love, KNKL in Tremonton shows a translator with Smithfield as the city of license, but the coordinates show the CVMG site in Hyde Park that houses KGNT. My guess is that the K-Love programming on 98.3 is a placeholder while CVMG gets ready to put on their own Humpy station. If not, then I imagine they will change their logos and imaging some time soon. I just listened for a bit and they are still plugging away with the 94.5/98.3 on the air ...
