Maybe a power failure at Farnsworth?
And they’re back! Never mind.

Power Failure. The crew up there is awesome. Got things switched to emergency power and got everyone back on.

That brings up an interesting question. Are crew(s) stationed up there regularly or do they need to get in when there's an incident? I know there's a helicopter landing pad but in mid-winter it can't be fun regardless of mode of transportation.

KSL had some kind of a power bump this morning. I was listening to the internet stream and just after they announced the winner of their free gas promotion it went silent for several seconds. I just assumed it was buffering but then Tim came back on and said something about technology. A few minutes later he said texters were saying they had gone off the air while they announced the name. They have to call and claim their prize within 15 minutes so Tim repeated the name. Maybe unrelated but, since there was apparently a power failure yesterday, it's an interesting coincidence, if nothing else, that KSL had a power bump today.

I liked how KSL, back in the AM-only days, used to reinforce its branding by giving prize winners 11 minutes and 60 seconds to call in.

When Bob Lee was doing a show till midnight that was known as the "Late Bob Lee show" (a little morbid), when his show ended he would always close his show by saying "KSL news time 11:60." When 1320 KFAN was in its hayday, they would do something similar with their contests where you would have 13 minutes and 20 seconds to call in. It was funny because when a lot of them moved to 1280, I think I heard somewhere they were thinking of doing the whole thing of having 12 minutes and 80 seconds to call in until it dawned on someone that that would be the EXACT same amount of time as 13 minutes and 20 seconds. Since 1320 was 1280's biggest competitor at the time, 1280 decided not to do that.
