I heard a promo on KLO this morning for a new automotive program, but I don't recall the name. The promo announcer said the show would be on Wednesdays from 4-5 PM. That seems like an odd time for an automotive program, since most of the gearhead shows air on Saturday mornings or afternoons. Then again, KLO has often scheduled its non-musical programming during odd dayparts. And strangely enough, there's no mention of the new program on either KLO's website or their Facebook page.

Apparently not this week. Listening at 4 I got the usual CBS News then back to music. Maybe that's why it isn't listed anywhere yet. The spot was released too early or maybe it used to be there but isn't anymore?
I agree the daypart is odd, especially because the at-work audience is likely a target for this kind of format. The oddness makes me wonder if it's really a paid program (aka infomercial).

No offense to Capital Broadcasting, but most of what they call specialty programming is thinly disguised paid programming. At least that was true with the Heartwood Hospice and mortgage company programs they aired last year. But it appears that KLO has moved the infomercials for nutritional supplements and so forth to the weekends, when people are less likely to tune out and change the station.

If I'm not mistaken paid programming must be clearly identified a such.

If I'm not mistaken paid programming must be clearly identified a such. That's true, and KLO always airs a disclaimer before the start of each paid program. I've also noticed that stations have been more careful about identifying prerecorded programs, since Salem Media was recently fined $50 K for misrepresenting a program as being live in studio. Last week's Kim Komando show on KVNU had a disclaimer from Kim stating that the "program you just heard may not have been live".

Just heard another promo for this program on KLO. The show is called "Behind The Wheel", and the same day and time was announced. Wonder if it will actually be on this Wednesday?

KLO has finally added a link for the Behind The Wheel program to their web site, so apparently the first show will air this afternoon. The link on KLO's page goes to the John Watson Chevrolet site, so I suspect this will be another "specialty program", i.e. infomercial, similar to the Heartwood Show and real estate program KLO aired last year.
