From disgusted guest: Didn't want to further the thread derailment. Disgusted, CA has given the Utah Radio enthusiast a choice. Radio doesn't broadcast only one station. Why should discourse about it be limited to one channel. The more the merrier. CA also gave attribution. Which makes the thread kosher, indeed. The type of thing someone with "many years" does.

Those from the other board should know where to post comments like that... geez, pull your head out disgusted.

Look, I think it was immature of CA to walk from the other board. I read the rebuttal and have to agree with the others. I was the one who forwarded on the PM to the administrators, because I thought it was a lousy trick that CA did. He banned a friend of mine, who deserved it, for trying to promote another board, so he violated the TOS. I will never post again here.

Well, passion is a good thing, I guess.
I wish both boards well. I will post here and, only read the other one, I guess.
When I try to log in I get this:
Since all with authority over there have emails hidden, I will not disturb their slumber.

I can't say that I totally agree with CA, but its hard not to dislike Elch and Admin for their disrespect of me when I was only offering an opinion on their site. The problem is that you can't make it seem like you are picking on either one or the other will try to publicly humiliate you because you were jabbing back at the one who jabbed at you. Really, thats all it was, but some people seem to take things super hard. Hopefully they avoid the double standard in the future.
I can't post anything like this over there, so I am here observing, getting my two cents in.

EUJ, without knowing who you're referring to, it's hard to know the circumstances or even whether I was the one who did he banning. Off the top of my head I can't think of anyone who was actually banned for that particular offense, but I may be forgetting.
Disgusted: One, you appear to be under the misconception that I wouldn't have found out about the news without that post. That is untrue. I read the boards (12 in all) before I read the FCC daily reports. I simply read it there first and used and expanded on the lead. That is the gentlemanly thing to do, and it is done all the time in the news and blogging businesses. That's all. Two, I've tried for several years to make things work there. It's simply become apparent that they won't. In a divorce, it would be called irreconcilable differences.

I'm assuming that, like Dolt's, my account over there will be disabled as soon as somebody reads this post. Oh well.
In Elchupacabras' rebuttal over there, he mentioned being chastised about how he handled a "religious" situation. The situation was a bit of a spat between Dolt, me, and I forget who else. Anyway, without re-hashing what happened, suffice it to say that the situation was indeed handled extremely poorly.
I understand that moderating a forum can be tough work, and that sometimes it's not possible to personally respond to every PM.
But let's face it, it ain't that big a forum, and compared to your average Web forum, it sees barely any action. Once Elchup "handled" the situation, I sent him a very polite PM with my thoughts on how it was handled. Even a simple, couple-word response would have done a lot. Nothing.
I can understand being new at moderation and messing up a time or two in the beginning. Had Elchup bothered to respond to my PM and explained this to me, it would have been forgotten that day. But as I felt unfairly dealt with and completely unresponded to, I haven't posted at that forum since.
I was never really a "squeaky wheel" over there (I think I sent like 5 PM's total since joining in 2004), but CA always responded to questions, PM's quickly and professionally. I didn't always agree with how CA handled some situations, but he always did so with class.
So...I'll keep my account over there (because, like Dolt said above, radio doesn't just broadcast on one station) but this new board is a refreshing change. I hope it grows into a vibrant and healthy place for discussion.

Bonneville Mariner, good to see you here! I would not assume your account will be disabled. If I were to take a wild guess and grab something out of space, the disabling of my account is likely due to inexperienced moderation or, my posting a link to this board on a forum not under Utah's Radio Forum's control. Like I said, that is my wild guess. I was never informed as to the whys and wherefores. I do not keep my email private. I also sent elchup a pm supporting his decision, no reply. Wish nothing but good for all connected over there. It is also my fervent desire that people do not confuse disagreement with dislike of the individual concerned. Most situations have a chance for betterment when open discussion takes place. Otherwise, what is now, is the best it will ever be.

Well now I've gone and done it.
I'd link over but to be honest I didn't read the forum guidelines on linking to competing forums, so I won't.
Here's the deal: This is the Internet, for Pete's sake. I don't lose sleep over anything that happens on this or any other forum. I enjoy discussion about radio. I don't visit these forums to have political or religious debates, or to have high school girl fights. I call things as I see them and I'll continue to do so confidently and hopefully intelligently. But I have nothing personal against any moderator, poster, or administrator of any Internet message board, and in the grand scheme of things, I really don't care.

As far as I'm concerned, you're fine posting links to other boards.

Would someone post the link to this forum on Radio-Info? I think it would help generate some interest.

My account at the other board has been fixed.
That was a stand up thing to do and I am grateful.

Not really. Just a bot from the well-known sewer of the Internet known as mainland China. Oops. I'm getting a nasty phone call from the Sewer Anti-Defamation League. Gotta go.
