This morning Ken Bates and Mary Richards were hosting Utah's Morning News. I've only ever heard Ken Bates when he has filled ineither in the morning or for Jeff in the afternoon. I've never heard him doing any reporting. It will be interesting to find out.

KSL radio has been airing teaser ads this week stating we'll find out on July 11th who Amanda's new co-host will be, so maybe keeping things under wraps for now is an attempt to improve the station's ratings. As for Ken Bates and Mary Richards filling in, I'm guessing that's because it's a holiday weekend and Amanda and some of the regular KSL radio staff are taking some time off.

I agree with David. All sorts of wonky things happen during holiday periods.

According to a recent post on Amanda Dickson's Facebook page, Tim Hughes is her new co-host for Utah's Morning News on KSL radio. Thoughts?
In other KSL radio news, Jay McFarland has been absent from his time slot for the past two weeks. A post on KSL's Facebook page indicates he'll be back on at 2:50 PM on Friday, but no details beyond that. However, a recently published article on the Utah Policy web site indicates "Jay Mac" is considering running for Congress against Ben McAdams, which could mean he'll be asked by KSL to resign. Sounds like some more changes might be in store at Broadcast House, and I think it may have something to do with last month's ratings.
