Welcome to Broken Record Theater. Easy 99.1 still has a very small rating, but it's showing. KLO has a much bigger coverage area and is again MIA. Lather Rinse Repeat. Co-owned (but not co-programmed unless something changed while I wasn't looking) 103.1 The Wave is growing and now consistently putting up better numbers than they have for a long time. I've also been seeing advertising for it. Hmmmm....
And Generalisimo Francisco Franco is still.....er I mean Broadway is apparently still not subscribing.

Capital Broadcasting needs to share the love with KSQN and scrape up a few bucks to advertise KLO if they want the station to succeed. A few local insertion ads on the local MeTV and Antenna TV affiliates would target their potential listening audience, and likely wouldn't cost too much. Word of mouth just ain't gonna cut it for KLO. Capital might as well flip back to Jim Rome and endless Mike Gallagher repeats if they're not going to put any effort into promoting KLO's new format.

If The Wave is still being LMAed it would probably be the programmer that would be responsible for the advertising, no?

You probably have more knowledge of that subject than I do, but doesn't Capital still operate KBZN as well as KLO? Have you seen any advertising for 97.9 recently?

It depends on what you mean by "operate." Capital owns the station and is responsible for the broadcast. I was under the impression that Chet Tapp and his gang were leasing the station and doing the programming. If I'm wrong about that I would certainly like to be corrected and set the record straight.

It's my understanding that KSQN has always been programmed by the Capital programming team and the current format has never been part of any kind of lease agreement. It's a homegrown project and good to see it growing.

As a regular listener to 103.1 The Wave I can say that the playlist was expanded. The station has added more songs from the 90's and early 2000's. I think this could contribute to the additional number of listeners.
On The Wave's facebook page a few listeners complained about the additional songs. I really don't mind. The bulk of the songs are still from the alternative music from the 80's.
I'm glad the numbers are growing. I really like this station. I even downloaded the app for my Android.
