KSL is still down but I expect that to be turning around already. The summer is (unofficially) over, political intrigue is on the rise, the mid term elections are coming up, BYU sports is happening again, and probably a few other things I'm forgetting. The current ratings period ends Wed Sept 12 so there should be the start of the recovery in the next public report. I know some will disagree, but let's wait and see.
Rewind 100.7 continues to make solid gains. I like the station so it's nice to see a rimshot do that well. On the flip side, 103.1 The Wave has fallen back to its norm.
Thoughts?

I like 100.7 also. I just wish that their playlist went a little deeper.

Is most of the decline attributable to the retirement of Doug Wright? Has anyone seen the breakout of the dayparts?

The MAIN thing that helps KSL numbers in the Fall and Spring ... IS... tada... Conference... nothing else even comes close... KSFI's Christmas numbers maybe do them even more good... but KSL's Steroid is confernece... ... KSL still has not found anything to make their 9a-3p even resemble their drive times... checking PPM's Vital signs... showed 1230-3p with an uptick in August... but generally speaking... going the wrong direction for the last couple of years... and Doug's replacement isn't fairing that good... Friday mornings are often as much as 50% stronger than Mon-Thur... I have ideas about a few things that aren't right there... some going back to before the election...

Ryan, KSL drops every summer. This is nothing new. I don't think Wright's semi-retirement is doing them any favors, but this is a systemic issue they always face. Not too different from how FM 100.3's ratings go ballistic every holiday season. As for 9AM-3PM being lower than drive time, that's true for virtually every station. The only exceptions are the "office friendly" music stations that are on in the background and get picked up by PPM's.
