There's a couple of FM stations for sale on the RadioTV Deals site which might be a possibility for their new home. One of the stations for sale is a class C2 FM in Provo, and the other is an unidentified FM in NE Utah. KQMB is also a possibility, since Zeta Holdings has filed with the FCC to take the station silent pending a future sale. KQMB would be a long shot, though, since the buyer would likely get the license and little else. The station's transmitter burned up awhile ago, and Zeta has been using the exciter to broadcast KQMB's signal since then.

FWIW: The transfer of KUMT's license to BYU was granted on June 22nd. I fear the end is near for Utah's Mountain.

Translators are pretty hard to come by around these parts, so that would be tricky but possible. I believe there are plans for KQMB though I'm not privy to what those plans are. Zeta does also own the 96.7 translator in Salt Lake so that's a bit of a wildcard too.

I was under the impression from reading the STA requests for KQMB/KSRR that Zeta plans to sell both stations because they've been operating at a loss. Did Kona Coast Radio ever get approval of its applications for FM translators for KRRF and KNIT?

There is a construction permit for K233DV 94.5 Draper for KNIT 1320. It doesn't cover much so I don't think it's hugely useful in its present form. It's a start though.
There's an application for 99.9 Bluffdale for KRRF 1230 which isn't much better. That's still pending.

My thinking was that one way for KUMT to secure an FM translator would be to buy KNIT (which is still for sale) if the FM translator is included in the sale. Based on what you've described, though, that would probably be a long shot at best.
