The blaze is now owned by KBER, what next? It would be cool if one went active rock, another Classic... and then THE END could stay AAA/Alternative.

I think they'll just move Country Legends to 94.9.
I'm not thrilled about it, but I bet that's what they'll do.

Any idea who might be interested in 107.5 and what they might put on it? With all the new stations coming in, I'm not sure how much extra pie there is to go around.

Hot Talk didn't work on 97.5 did it? Or was that blamed on a poor signal? I still think KNRS should simulcast on FM somewhere. That was one of the predictions for the new 105.7.

When I become King of the Universe you will hear KNRS on 105.7 and KLO on 97.9.
As of now, my new MP3 player has only FM, so I can listen to my personal music choices and to KSL-FM talk shows only. I seldom listen to music on radio any more.
(So, have I highjacked yet another thread?)

Hey Rog. Welcome. Is there any time-line on when/if things change? Right, I know, you can't say anything. Hehhe.

Yeah I don't know much more than what you guys already know. And the priveleged stuff is just that. All in all, I'm not too worried though.

I still like the idea of bring back "94.9 BHT" with a similar logo.

I wouldn't be comforted not knowing anything. That's usually when rumors get started. Incorrect rumors, usually. Listening to the grapevine, noting down what's said, then comparing it to what really happens is a fascinating spectator sport.

Remember when there used to be crazy fun rumors on these boards... some of which came true? I miss those days.
I wonder if we're ever going to have an interesting station flip ever again. Radio has gotten so static all over the country.
On an unrelated note, would "Movin" or "Jack" take off on a full-market signal? The versions in Seattle are doing very well against the CHR and Hot AC and classic hits/rock. It seems like Simmons could have a better chance against its competitors with one or more full-market (107.5 is a full market, albeit weaker in the north) signals again.

Simmons was indeed making a run at the Blaze signal about a year ago when they found out about the milcreek bankruptcy and the bank seize of the Oasis signal. Simmons really does hurt because of not having full market signals. The Eagle is one example. They have not, nor can they gain on the Bull without a better signal. Jack and Movin are formats that fade fast and probably should have never been launched. Why not kill Jack, get a full market signal, and resurrect the Star format. I'll never understand why they launched Movin instead of doing that. It's a proven format that they had already perfected once, and they had the talent in the building to do it. X96 is keeping that group afloat.

Effort per ratings point, Eagle DESERVES to do better, but it's signally challenged. Too bad they couldn't bail out 94.9 from Millcreek and buy it for Eagle.
