I'm late too, but that's understandable - I've moved out of Utah. Now living in Las Vegas, but still maintaining the cache free tv blog... so I stop in here to see whats happening in Utah.
And right now, "Unemployed in Vegas"

TheCoolTV's Facebook page says they'll be returning soon "Everywhere". So I would take anything they say with a grain of salt. I wouldn't expect TheCoolTV to show up on any of the major channels. They are all pretty settled on what they have now, and the only full-power channels with spare bandwidth are KSTU13, who has one SD available, seems they are happy with what they have, and KJZZ, who has enough for 1 720p or 2 SD. I have it from a reliable source that KJZZ has no intention of adding any subchannels. Ever. (Seems the kids lack the business sense of their father.) That leaves only some LP stations as possible partners. I've talked to the owner of a few LP stations who may be interested. We'll have to see how that plays out. For now you can watch on the internet: thecooltv.com/live.php . If you have a Roku box, you can find it on the MummyBox private channel (add it here- owner.roku.com/Add/livetvnow ) and Ive heard it's available on AppleTV. Whatever way I've seen it, online or on TV, it always seems starved for bandwidth. I suspect it's the original feed that's starved.

Hey Ken, just saw KUTF for the first time in over a year. No programming, see my post over at AVS SLC forum.

Wait... you think people in Logan can get anything directly from Farnsworth? Hehe. You're funny.
Admittedly, some folks on the high east bench may be able to see it, but even if thats the case it would get walked all over by co-channel from the translators.
So much shenanigans going on here with Franklin and Cache, double and triple translators for the same stations... translators on Clarkston Ridge in Utah being used as STLs for Franklin County in Idaho, rather than using microwave as they should... and Cache and Franklin refuse to talk to each other.
There's hardly ANY channels left on UHF here. And yet, we can't get the ION 16 channels because... well, I don't know. Both translator districts don't want to talk to me, either.

I wonder if this will bring any changes to 2 or 2.2

I'm going to vote for "cheapo crappy AM receivers" being the culprit here. Personally, I'm looking for an "old school" AM radio to do AM on.

Weekly TV books are a thing of the past, sadly. Even the daily listings in the newspaper are sub-par. I have yet to see one that lists sub-channel programming. The best thing I've found so far online at www.titantv.comTitan TV is FREE. It takes a while to get it set up to your preferences and location, but once you do it, it's completely customizable and you could print a paper copy, too. I access it from my media computer. I just wish it would interface with Windows Media Centerd so I could use it like a cable TV guide. I use windows media center, and it has a guide that does let me point and click, but it's incomplete, and a nightmare to set up, and it doesn't understand translators.

I have heard that NBC Universal Sports was going to pay TV and all NBC-US affiliates will need to find something else for their subchannels once their contracts expire.
So, since KSL 5 needs a subchannel, and KCSC already has a relationship with KSL - there's a match.

I receive the 2nd channel audio on 5.3 only on my Philips TV. I've never seen it on any other TV or converter box.
