KBYU's Website has a link to a press release saying that they were to go HD on Dec. 1. I've seen no HD on 11.1 nor 11.2. Anybody know what's up?

Inside scoop: They ripped all their TV shows into the new format for the HD master control, but the aspect ratio was wrong, so they are re-ripping everything again. They can't go live in the new BYU Broadcasting center until they have shows to play. And they can't go HD until they are in the new complex.

I don't suppose it would be possible to switch back and forth so that at least new material could be shown in HD.

11.1 and 11.2 now show that they are in 720p, but all the programs that I've seen are shrunken inside a 4:3 box, even the wide screen stuff. Looks no better than 7.2 with their 480i signal squashing their wide screen programming.

Looks like channel 11 finally is in true HD. Both 11.1 and 11.2 are running HD programs at the moment. 11.3 is also on in SD.

Is it HD on both 11.1 and 11.2 or is it just widescreen? I don't think an ATSC channel has enough bandwidth for 2 HD's and an SD, does it?

They're both widescreen and both show 720p. That's all I know. Looks like HD to me, but what do I know?
LDS Conference was on 11.2 today. It was also on 5.1 at the same time. 5.1 was sharper; they're in 1080i.
