I generally try to avoid politics since they can be so divisive, but this is just too much. I've been getting a continuing stream of spams from the Tim Bridgewater campaign. I never requested the information and in fact I know exactly where they got a hold of the email address. It was a special address made specifically for one group. That group was (as I had suspected) a scam operation and they put the address on a "millions CD" (a CD filled with email addresses that spammers blast their crap to). Now the Bridgewater campaign is using one. This is very sad indeed.

Things have gotten a lot more interesting.
The spams from the Bridgewater campaign continue, of course. The latest contained a letter from Bob Bennett throwing his support behind Bridgewater, so now I've lost all respect for him too. But that's not even the most interesting part.
I didn't bother mentioning originally that the purchased email address hadn't received any activity for a long time since it really didn't seem relevant. It's been so long that I don't even have the archives of the previous spams, scams and other garbage that was sent there with me anymore. They're all off in a storage locker. I bring it up now because a separate set of spams is now also coming in. These are solicitations to be a "mystery shopper" all being sent from throwaway accounts in Toronto. 100% Guaranteed Scam. I find the timing of this extremely suspect. The Bridgewater spams started on Memorial Day to an account that hadn't seen any activity in longer than I can remember, and both are targeted to specific geographic regions. (The shopper spam named the city I lived in when I fed the custom address to the original scammer that first sold it.) 2 1/2 weeks later a certifiable scam shows up in the same account. Now, I don't think the Bridgewater campaign has anything directly to do with the scam outfit, but it's nearly impossible for me to believe that this is a coincidence. Apparently the company that Bridgewater bought their mailing list from happily does business with those out to defraud people.
There's a lot more I could say about how I feel about this guy, but I'm going to refrain at this point. I think the facts speak for themselves.
