I'm in the market for a new home and I'm looking for new construction. Anyone here have any opinions (good or bad) on home builders? Any feedback welcome.

If you want to move to Herriman, Utah there are some good home builders out there I could recommend, but other than that, I have no other suggestions. I'd suggest one that doesn't have a problem with DXing, but thats just me .

Oddly enough, not one builder mentioned anything about DXing in their literature. What's the world coming to???

I've heard good things about Ivory Homes. I have no personal experience with them however.

Before you build, spend a night there with a good radio. Check out the noise floor.

If I was having a house built, I would do what Ken says and also have them put farraday cages around the places that would cause a lot of interference, like electrical boxes and laundry rooms etc. There is probably no sure way to eliminate all interference. As far as FM/TV, build a house with a huge roof that can hold a few antennas, or have them put one of those self supporting towers in for you Back on topic, I too have heard of Ivory.

Trust me: Save yourself the hassle and just buy an existing home. Your stress-level will thank you.

I've heard of Ivory too, but I'm reluctant to deal with them for a reason almost completely unrelated to their construction work. I'll expand on that in a separate thread.
Henry, what kind of stress are you referring to? I've known people who have bought both existing and new construction and the new seemed a little easier though both were a PITA.
