I like this commercial and noticed "CBS Radio" is part of it. :-)
I wish we were lucky enough to hear CBS News Radio, but I digress. (KIRO, like KSL, now does most of its own newscasts except a CBS "brief" in morning drive)

Whoops. Missed this post.
KSL went to ABC Radio News about spring of 2005. It was a few months before 97.5 FM Talk debuted. 97.5 picked up CBS News along with local inserts from 2News in September 2005. After it folded a year later, KLO picked up CBS but without the local inserts.

Right, I knew that... I um. Didn't express it very well in this post.
Last I knew though, KSL (at least M-F, 5 am to 9:59 pm) is doing its own news updates and choosing to edit in the network as warranted.
I personally (and I'm not that old) don't care for this. The networks do a pretty good t.o.h. actual 'cast. Oh well, just sends me over to NPR.

I agree with you. I actually like the way 97.5 did it with the national news followed by the first national break, then the local news. I think KLO still does that in some dayparts too. You get all the important stories on both levels that way, rather than the important national stories and then some fluffier national stories.
On the other hand I guess we should be grateful that some stations are doing TOH news at all.
