All depends on the bandwidth setup on the HD system. You only get a certain amount of spectrum on the digital signal. On KSOP I run mine in extended hybrid mode which gives me just a little bit more bandwidth but I have to watch my modulation which I keep right at 100 percent. With HD you are not limited by the pre emphasis curve on FM in which you can hear the difference especially in the highs when it blends. In my Omnia I have settings to help with that. On HD as well, most people will dedicate a good portion of their bandwidth to the HD1 then the 2 & 3 gets whatever’s left. i just have my HD1 and HD2. I would never want to add a 3, it would get nasty sounding. quote author=" oldiesfunhouse" source="/post/12017/thread" timestamp="1653345758"]When did KBER stop broadcasting in HD? That had to have been fairly recently because I know it hasn't been that long ago that in one of my dial surfings in the car, KBER was still in HD. If you're wondering since I'm blind how I can tell, I can hear the transition from analog to HD. Sometimes I wonder if they make the analog signals not as good, either the radio manufacturer or the station, so that HD sounds that much better when the radio switches to it. KRCL is one that I think hasn't been in HD for a while. I've sent us off topic again, haven't I? sorry guys![/quote]
