Has Jon already started his new show? At the top of the hour, every hour, the voice guy is saying "Jon Carter in the morning and ten in a row classic rock."

I don't know when he started but Jon is on today. I listened to most of the first hour of his show and it is very music intensive. They're staying with the ten in a row format but he is coming on every few songs and talking … and singing in one case. LOL! I didn't get to listen to the rest of his show but I'm recording it and will listen later tonight. There wasn't any news or traffic either which I found interesting. I'm a little disappointed as I guess I was hoping for a return to the days of Mr. Roberts, Timmy, the Bible Brothers, Mr. Twister, etc. but those segments took a lot of creativity and production on his part so I guess I set the bar pretty high for someone who is probably doing his final gig before retirement. He's still funny, though. He talked about how downloading their mobile app was "easy peasy lemon squeasy" and there was a mention of him making it possible for to have a pork chop in our pants. He immediately followed that by saying he didn't know what that meant exactly so he is having fun and it was great to hear his voice again.

I believe it was Jon who voiced the "Mr. Stress" character when he and Dan Bammes were doing the morning show on Z93, and the "very busy Salt Lake City businessman" always cracked me up when I heard him. "ANSWER ME!!!" 😃 Funniest sketch character ever IMO.

I don't remember that character, David. Great stuff. I didn't know whether Jon started at 5:30 or 6 so I started recording at 5:30. It sounds like he's starting at 6. The stream must have a 2 hour time out because, when I got home from work, I had about 2 hours of audio and a big long file of silence. Darn. So, with that in mind, I did edit it down to only Jon's talking so you can hear what he said during the first hour and a half of his show. Knowing that, I'll be able to get a little more recorded by stopping and restarting but I have to be to work by 8 so if he goes till 10, I still won't be able to get all of it. Here is the link. www.dropbox.com/s/ws4e9cgrzd1uofi/Jon%20Carter%20-%202020%200921%20Aircheck%206%20AM%20to%207%2030%20AM.mp3?dl=0

Wow, thanks for doing all of that work!
Jon sounds very happy ☺️. As I posted earlier in the other thread, Jon had NOT sounded happy to me at the Arrow for a long time.
From the song titles that Jon announced, it seems that Zion plays a broader playlist than the Arrow.

A post on Jon's Facebook page says he's still living in Sandy and doing his show on KZYN remotely from his basement. Not sure if the arrangement is permanent, but for now he's still living in the Salt Lake area.

Amanuensis, you're welcome. GoldWave is a great sound editing program. I tried recording Tuesday's show but at some point, before I got home from work, we had a power bump so the recording didn't save. Unfortunate, that, because we won't get to hear Jon singing a line from "Summer Wind" by Frank Sinatra. Being the first day of autumn, he sang the line about the autumn winds. However, I was able to get the entirety of today's, Wednesday's show. Jon sings twice in this one, a song from the B52s and ... Julio Iglecias! At the end it sounds like it just cut off because he didn't say goodbye or that he'd be with us tomorrow but the next time someone talked after this file ends it was their midday DJ. So here is the entire aircheck from the Wednesday Humpday edition of the Jon Carter morning show on Zion FM. Enjoy! www.dropbox.com/s/03xrmfp3fksrxgh/Jon%20Carter%20-%20Aircheck%202020%200923.mp3?dl=0

WideOrbit has a remote app for your house where you can hear the outro and intro, voicetrack, and then slip the tracks to make perfect segues. And his mic audio has mild echo of a home studio. Even voicetracked, it's top notch radio for St. George. But it's 2020, and I suppose I was a tad naive to think he'd be living in St. George doing a live show. Of course it's gonna be tracked.

I certainly thought it was possible he had moved to St. George. It's a big retirement mecca and since Jon is close to retirement, I thought maybe he had decided to do sooner what he was planning anyway on doing later.
