Sadly, David, if I were a betting man, which I'm not, I'd put my money on a whimper. Something else I've noticed, they're just playing the music without any of the recorded "Unforgettable KLO" drops from the lady that's the voice of that service and, as of yesterday evening, they were playing a few seconds of the song that Westwood 1 plays at the top of the hour before cutting away to the legal ID and CBS news. And, I don't think Classic Radio Theater with Wyatt Cox ran last night. I could be wrong about that. It just seemed like I tuned in when it should have been on and heard music. I wonder if they had a system crash or something and, rather than restore all the "local" recordings they just did the bare minimum to keep something on till Sembrador takes over.

I just tuned into the internet stream which, I think, at this point, is the same as the OTA broadcast, and they were in the middle of a commercial and when the commercial ended it came in part way through a song so the automation is definitely not running properly.

Oldiesfunhouse, you're probably right about KLO changing hands with no notice or fanfare. Unfortunately, radio broadcating history doesn't matter much these days to anyone but "radio geeks" like us. IMO, it's a sad ending for a station that's been a part of Utah broadcasting for 95 years. I can't remember exactly how long Len Allen hosted the morning show on KLO, but he must have been on the air for at least 50 years.
Classic Radio Theater didn't air on KLO last night, but I've been in touch with Wyatt Cox through Facebook, and he said he's trying to get a new radio affiliate for his program in the Salt Lake area. One other thing I noticed is that KLO is no longer airing local ad spots--just the national ads from Westwood One. I wonder if Capital Broadcasting has done anything to promote the move of Weber State football and basketball games to KSQN beyond the article published in the Standard Examiner last month. The only other place I've seen it mentioned is a short blurb on the All Access site. They need to advertise the switch, as the Weber State games are probably one of their biggest draws for listeners.

Since KLO's ratings are what they are, and Weber State isn't playing football right now...

I think KBJA, alias, K-Talk (I still wonder why they kept the name but didn'b bother to get the call letters) is running at least some hours of Classic Radio Theater in the overnight hours on either the the weekends or maybe even week nights. Or it might be When Radio Was with Greg Bell. But I think KSL carries that too. I'm trying to think what other station here would carry that. S.P. Romney has quite a draw on KBJA during the time slot it had on KLO so that wouldn't work and I think those hours on KNRS and KKAT are pretty locked in too. KSOP AM MIGHT be a vague possibility but that show is formatted to carry top of the hour news which KSOP AM doesn't. If they did decide to take it, maybe instead of running it from 7 to 10 they could run it from nine to midnight. But I think they have some syndicated shows they run on weekends during that time slot. 1230 KJJC the Place would be an unattractive possibility because of their weak signal. Other than that, unless someone buys KMRI or KDYL I'm not sure where it would land. Thoughts?

Another vague possibility for Classic Radio Theater could be one of the religious stations like KUTR, KIHU, KANN, or KNIT. KANN has carried "Adventures in Oddyssy" and "Unshackled" which are Christian themed radio dramas. I don't know if any of them would go for a "secular" show like Classic Radio Theater, though.

Network stations aren't going to preempt the network.
Meanwhile, 103.1 has requested KLO-FM.

KBJA did air a couple hours of "When Radio Was" weeknights between 8-10 PM (I think) for a few months, then they replaced it with nightly repeats of some third tier talk program. KSL still airs When Radio Was on Sunday mornings, but it's on during the "graveyard" hours of 1 AM-5 AM. It would be nice if KSL picked up Classic Radio Theater from 9 PM-12 AM weeknights instead of airing repeats of Dave & Dujanovic and Lee Lonsberry, but I seriously doubt that will happen. Most people are watching TV between 9 PM-12AM weeknights anyway, and it would be nice for those of us who don't watch to have something different on the radio at that time. Oh well, I can always dream.

What other changes would Capital make with 103.1 besides becoming KLO-FM and moving the Weber State games to FM? The Wave appears to be doing OK ratings wise for a rimshot signal, so I doubt that a format change is in the works.

I agree too. I also wouldn't be surprised if they drop the -FM once the AM has changed.

It sounds like El Sembrador has assumed control of 1430, or it will shortly. Right now, the over the air signal is some soft new age/light classical music that's definitely not the Westwood One feed. But for some reason, the TuneIn and Simple Radio apps for KLO are still carrying the adult standards/soft AC format. Go figure!
EDIT: The over the air signal has definitely been taken over by El Sembrador, and they've got some issues with the automation/TOH ID. 1430 is now ID'ing as "KLO, 1430 Utah", which was repeated nearly a dozen times before it finally stopped. El Sembrador needs to add the city of license to the legal ID or risk getting slapped with an NAL. Simply identifying as "KLO, 1430 Utah" isn't going to cut it with the FCC.

The consummation notice says consummation happened 10/13 (pretty much confirming what Ken said) and was filed 10/19. The callsign change for 103.1 and the switch to non-comm haven't been approved yet, so that could be holding up the launch and the new calls. 1430 using the KLO calls is only temporary.
