iHeart has dropped digital sub channels from 3 of their 5 class C FMs in Salt Lake. 97.1, 105.9, and 106.7 no longer have HD channels. I guess that they’re giving up on the experiment.
90.9 has also stopped broadcasting its HD2 channel, World Radio news.

Wow, good thing I only spent $25 for my Insignia HD Radio! Sounds like HD might be going the way of the 8 track tape soon, at least in Salt Lake. Fortunately, KSOP-AM is still being simulcast on 104.3 HD 2, because 1370 is inaudible after sunset in NE Ogden.

radiowyoming, either you have a superb DX antenna and receiver, or you're getting some very short skip on 1370. All I hear on 1370 about 1/2 hour after sunset is KXTL in Butte.

Probably a bit premature to say that one radio group's HD signals are down means that they're done. Might be some technical issues they are working on, or hardware/software upgrades. Wow! We like to jump to conclusions here... Seems like with the increase in HD radios in vehicles over the past few years, the radio groups would be doing the opposite and jumping on "the experiment". Or, making sure they're up to date and working as best as possible.

I completely agree with Timmy. There is a lot of work going on up on Farnsworth right now. The secondary TV signals have been a mess for over a month now. It's not surprising that some of the backup FM facilities wouldn't have HD transmitters. I would also expect that if iHeart was giving up on HD that it would be making all the trade papers which it hasn't.

The reason why those HD’s are off is because they are on backup towers. They aren’t low level combined like we are that means they run analog through the main community antenna and the HD is a separate transmitter running into their aux antenna. Work is commencing on the big combined antenna which had a failure. Everyone should be back to normal soon. We have a hybrid HD transmitter which we are able to spit out analog and HD out of the same tower which we are currently on our backup as well.
