The problems with the Morey stations continue to mount, but the indication is that they may soon be resolved. I forgot to note a few days ago that 96.7 K244DH Fort Douglas / Salt Lake had applied to go silent Tuesday 8/28 with an effective date of 8/29. It appeared to be silent (at least intermittently) for some time before that though. In the filing they give the reason as "ZETA HOLDINGS LLC REQUESTS PERMISSION TO TEMPORARILY SUSPEND OPERATIONS OF K244DH. THE COMPANY IS IN EXTREME FINANCIAL DISTRESS BUT IS NOW IN NEGOTIATIONS WITH A WILLING BUYER WITH THE MEANS TO SUPPORT THE TRANSLATORS OPERATIONS. IT IS ANTICIPATED THE TRANSLATOR WILL REMAIN SILENT ONLY FOR THE TIME IT TAKES TO COMPLETE THE SALE AND RECEIVE FCC APPROVAL." I believe this ties in with the discussion and hopefulness we were talking about back in May.
I wonder if KSRR & KQMB could simulcast and the Salt Lake translator could rebroadcast KSRR and blanket Provo to Salt Lake on 96.7.
In a related note, a whole bunch of translator applications that Morey had have been dismissed at their request. They probably have enough to worry about without that.
