More Interference Ahead for AM Clear Channel Stations?

It appears as though the FCC may allow daytime only AM stations and those stations which have to reduce power at night the opportunity to continue to operate post-sunset, or to increase nighttime power for better local coverage. The proposed changes would also mean less protection for the class A (clear channel) AM's at night and during critical hours of operation. Whether or not this is a good thing depends on one's point of view, but I'd hate to be on the committee that has to make the final decision. More info here:
