It appears as though the FCC may allow daytime only AM stations and those stations which have to reduce power at night the opportunity to continue to operate post-sunset, or to increase nighttime power for better local coverage. The proposed changes would also mean less protection for the class A (clear channel) AM's at night and during critical hours of operation. Whether or not this is a good thing depends on one's point of view, but I'd hate to be on the committee that has to make the final decision.
