KTVX 4 has started an aggressive campaign notifying everyone that we will need to rescan due to the TV repack. They're reporting the time as either after Sept 8 or I think it was Sept 9 at midnight. (Both are pretty much the same, but the geeks might like to be specific.) Since this is a coordinated effort, I would think everyone would be moving at the same time.
The timing seems logical to me. It will hit right as the summer season is winding down but with enough lead time before the fall season to make sure everyone is on the new channels so ratings don't get hit.

Are any other stations doing the re-pack at this time?

Six will be moving to new channels. KTVX (4), KSL (5), KUED (7), BYUTV (11), KJZZ (14), and KUCW (30).

There are also a number of LPTV's that are moving as well. In the Salt Lake area those would be KPDR 19, KBTU 23, K39JS-D 39 and KEJT 50. 39 will be the most interesting because it's actually moving to RF 9 on VHF.
The actual schedule as I said I'm not sure of. Oddly, the FCC schedule says testing isn't supposed to start until Sept 14. Not sure what's going on there but it probably won't hurt much.

Over the past two days (since Wed 8/29) I've been watching the movements starting. KEJT 50 has already made the move to RF 21 and KPDR 19 has made the move to RF 22. I've also seen tests for KBYU-TV on RF 17 which was running at the same time as the "old" frequency on RF 44. The most fun was watching RF 23, currently KBTU but the future home of KSL-TV. KBTU would go off the air and KSL would come on, then it would swap back. For a time BOTH signals were on which made the channel an unusable mess. That was not fun.

I did a re-scan last week and noticed that 22.5 came up with a blank channel. My TV only stated that the format wasn't supported. Not certain if this was part of the shuffling currently going on.

My local YouToo America affiliate KQTI has re-located to 31.3, and their Biz TV subsidiary is now on 31.4. The previous channel assignments were 8.1 and 8.2, respectively.

RF 22 is now KPDR which used to be on RF 19. What used to be 19.5 is now (basically) 22.5. As far as I can tell, KPDR's .5 (on either frequency) has been blank since they dropped the KCSG simulcast last year. The whole thing just moved to a new channel.

As usual things aren't exactly that simple. KBTU (RF 23) went off the air Friday night/Saturday morning sometime. KSL has already lit up their new signal on RF 23 in addition to their old RF 38 signal. I believe KBYU has done the same thing with 17 & 44.
I'm awaiting KBTU's return on RF 15 but nothing so far. What a mess.
