An updated article published in today's edition of RadioInsight states that BYU paid $875,000 for KUMT--and the Ogden booster is back on the air now.

FWIW, KUMT's Ogden booster is finally back on 107.9 after being off for almost a month.

It's been more than a month since the MAIN on Humpy has been on. It's still off so I would have no idea if they've changed format or done anything with it. Didn't think boosters could be on if the main is off. Then too, 102.3 and 106.3 have been off like all winter and are still off. *shrug* I guess they all have "auxillary transmitter" licenses or something.

So what Salt Lake rimshot stations can be picked up in Evanston right now? Our family took a quick drive to Evanston last Saturday and I was going to check, but SiriusXM was having a free weekend so I listed to it instead. For a small town, Evanston sure has some unique shops. I am sure SLC does not have a quilting store that also sells antlers and horns, for example.

I've heard through the grapevine that 102.3 and 106.3 are reliant on Broadway for assistance / access at the main transmitter site. It's kind of funny that their closest viable competitor is also on the same site (104.7 & 107.1).

Michael you're correct that boosters can't be on unless the main is on. There's nothing listed for any auxes for any of the Humpy stations, so if the boosters are on the main has to be unless there's some STA and no STA is on on file in CDBS for KUMT. I haven't seen any for any other of the Humpy stations either. Without the mains on the Humpy station can't even pretend to serve their cities of license, so complaints would seem to be in order.
It makes sense that Broadway would run Humpy. IIRC it was the Millcreek/3 Point group that developed Humpy first back in 1999 when they put 102.3 up there. After it went belly up he Millcreek/3 Point assets ended with with Broadway so the Humpy site would have probably gone with them. It's also true that as far as I know at least the TV side on Farnsworth is still run by Bonneville though everyone has access as needed. Doesn't make much sense to say "OK, the tower needs to be painted, whose turn is it this year?" Just have everyone pitch in a percentage and have one group make sure everything is in order. I'm sure the same is true at Humpy. There's also almost certainly a contract involved so the group in charge can't just throw a competitor out for spite. And taking care of all of this is what The Suits do and get paid for.

Yup I think that is correct. I remember like 4 or 5 years ago Scott Matthews told me that he had to go up to humpy and he would take me with him for a tour. That didn't happen, but I know when I was writing to Scott he was an engineer for Simmons. So yes I am pretty sure you are correct Broadway does have control of humpy. Just checked to make sure. 102.3, 104.7, 106.3, and 107.9 are all off. 107.1 is on along with the other humpies.
Amanuensis, all the humpies can be picked up here. That would be the ones mentioned above, plus 97.5, 100.7, 101.5, and 103.1. Engineering says that they all put a "city grade" signal into Evanston. However I can tell you it's only about 50/50. Plenty of spots where they are fuzzy including right here at my shop which is just a few blocks from downtown. As CA pointed out yeah it was 3-points (Chris divine if I recall) that developed the whole humpy site and had the humpy/boosters idea. He put 102.3 on (remember 102.3 the Blaze?) and then we sold KOTB 106.1 to him and they did the same with it. Glad you got to stop in town and look around. I like it here but obviously spend a lot of time down there in Utah. It's only an hour away.

FWIW, the 107.9 Ogden booster is off again after being back on the air for just a couple days. I'm not sure what the issue is, but at this point with the pending sale of the station to BYU, the technical difficulties may not be permanently corrected until after the sale is consummated.

The 107.9 Ogden booster has been back on the air since last Friday. According to the Utah's Mountain Facebook page, it should be fixed for good now.

It would make sense for BYU Broadcasting to launch BYURADIO on 107.9 at the same time that KBYU-TV switches to BYU TV. I assume that if the FCC approval for the sale is still pending, some type of LMA arrangement could be made with PC Wireless.

The Wasatch Community Media website states that "We've got some interesting opportunities we are exploring to keep the station on air..." Can anyone shed further light on that or would anyone care to speculate as to where on the dial they might be hoping to go?

KRCL has an HD2 signal. WorldNet Radio or something like that. The Mountain could replace that or they could get an HD3 and then simulcast on some translators since the HD signal wouldn't be viable on its own.
