Ironic radio article of the day: Chicago's "little station that could"; MeTV FM (WRME-LP, 87.7), will soon have a new AM affiliate in the Saginaw, MI area. The format is now available for syndication through Envision Radio Networks as well. Might be a good format for KWDZ, which iHeart has done nothing with since acquiring 910 AM along with WZRL-FM (ex-WRDZ-FM) nearly three years ago. radioinsight.com/headlines/167301/metv-fm-coming-to-am-in-saginaw/

The syndication deal happened last year but I didn't hear any takers until now. It's worth noting that the station in question is a 5 kw regional that covers very little.
As for KWDZ, there is zero chance that iHeart will put MeTV FM on it and for very good reasons. iHeart already has quite a few turnkey formats that they're already programming. They wouldn't pay someone else to program something that they're already doing themselves. Even if they did want to put a format like MeTV FM on 910, they already have almost the same format on KODJ. They aren't going to compete with themselves, especially on an AM. I don't think they actually have any interest in programming it at all. If they were going the turnkey route they would have done that years ago, and they have another AM with a better signal that they're also pretty much ignoring down at 570. That would be the spot for a new station if they cared to.

www.iheart.com/live/sunny-radio-5014/At least one station, an HD2 in Dearborn/Detroit, programs this seventies lite rock format. I stream it often at work. For some reason, iHeart calls it an Easy Listening station. I would 😍 if iHeart broadcast it locally.

Sounds a lot like the "America's Best Music" format syndicated by Westwood One, which is now a Cumulus subsidiary. I loved the ABM format when it was on KDYL: Jeff Rollins, Ed Brand, Chick Watkins, et al gave the format a "homey" feel even though it was nationally syndicated. Since Cumulus 86'ed all the ABM jocks a few years ago and went to voice tracking, it's just another bland corporate radio format.
