I just expected that KNIT would have a stronger signal than 1230 because of its higher power and access to a good radial ground system. I can actually hear KRRF (1230) better in Ogden than KNIT, so maybe it has something to do with the location of transmitter site. Even before the tower collapsed and the station was at full power, it was difficult to receive KJQS north of the Weber County line. The resumption of operations document for KNIT has been posted on the FCC web site. At least Vic Michael appears to be keeping 1320 on the air for more than a few hours like iHeart did with KWDZ last summer: licensing.fcc.gov/cgi-bin/ws.exe/prod/cdbs/forms/prod/cdbsmenu.hts?context=25&appn=101779548&formid=910&fac_num=53500

KNIT appears to be off the air now . . . all I'm hearing on 1320 is white noise. Anyone close to the Salt Lake area picking them up?

The carrier is on with no modulation.

The carrier is on with no modulation. The audio is back on 1320 now, but the signal seems weaker than it was a couple of weeks ago.

1320 seems a lot stronger today. 1230 is still weak.

1320 seems a lot stronger today. 1230 is still weak. As far as I know, KRRF (1230) is still broadcasting from the Cumulus office on Bearcat Dr. and not the 1320 tower site. I think Vic Michael's plan is to diplex 1230 with 1320 once the new tower is built, and with the weather we've had lately it's probably going to be late spring/early summer before it's up and running. I'm wondering if KNIT's stronger signal is the result of the ground system working more effectively with all the rain we've had lately. The ground radials at the former 1230 tower site (ex-KJQS) are still in place and supposedly being used with the wire antenna 1320 is presently using.
