There's an interesting ad on Radio Info that trumpets the success of the Movin' format. radio-info.com/a/am/adview.php?what=zone:2&n=a20fbaf4It says that Movin' is #1 in women 18-49 in Anchorage; #2 women 18-49 in Seattle and #5 women 18-49 In San Francisco. The first two make sense. I'm not sure I'd be cheering "We're #5!" though. Number 5 just isn't a lot to be celebrating, even if it's a key demo. Any programmer knows that there are Movin' stations all over the country. If you're scraping #5 as something to use in an ad, what do the numbers at the rest of the stations look like? This can't be a good sign, can it? We know that the Salt Lake Movin' isn't doing very well, though you have to consider that it's a rimshot also. Do you think this format has legs, or is it destined to go where Jammin' Oldies ended up - in the dustbin of history?
