Per the schedule posted on KTKK's web site, Mills Crenshaw is back at his pre-KLO radio home of 630 AM with Drive Time Live from 4:00-6:00 PM weekdays. Strangely enough, KTKK's current schedule also shows Greg Bell's When Radio Was old time radio program airing from 12 Midnight-2:00 AM Monday-Friday, but the station isn't presently listed as a Utah affiliate on the WRW web page. Hmmm . . . airing vintage radio programs during the week just after KLO's vintage radio show ends Monday-Friday. I wonder if KTKK is trying to compete with the station that gave Crenshaw the boot? ktalkmedia.com/host-schedule/

Sadly he passed away yesterday, December 20. I can't find anything doing a Google search to verify this. Do you have a link to a URL confirming his death?

I'm nearly positive that millscrenshaw.com/ is his real website and it is confirming that he has passed.

I'm nearly positive that millscrenshaw.com/ is his real website and it is confirming that he has passed. Thanks for the tip. When I checked his web site earlier this afternoon it hadn't been updated to include the information about his passing. Also, the internet firewall where I work blocks all social media sites, so I wasn't able to view the Facebook post until I accessed this site on my home PC. The reason I was a bit skeptical was twofold: Crenshaw had some enemies locally that would think it was hilarious to spread a rumor he was dead just to upset his loyal followers. The other reason is that about 10 years ago, someone started an internet rumor that Martin Davies, another KTALK alumnus, had died when in fact he was still alive and living in Ogden. Unfortunately, there are certain fringe elements of the talk radio audience that take great pleasure in spreading rumors to discredit hosts they don't like. And although I didn't always agree with Mills and his politics, I have to admire the man's staying power in local talk radio. 50 years is a LONG time to be in the radio business, especially considering that he spent most of those years at the same station (KTKK). Condolences to his family.

I find it somewhat ironic that a post on KLO's Facebook page mentions Mills' passing and refers to him as "our friend". He was barely on KLO for a year before they gave him the boot: www.facebook.com/KLO1430AM/?fref=nf

To be fair, do we know *why* he left KLO?

To be fair, do we know *why* he left KLO? Everything I've read indicates that Mills was fired by KLO because their regular listeners didn't care for his style of talk radio. If you read some of the comments on KLO's Facebook page from listeners, they appear to confirm that was the reason he was let go. It's the same reason that Merrill Cook was let go after he'd been on KLO for barely a month: negative listener reaction. There were a lot of posts on KLO's Facebook page at the time expressing displeasure with Cook's show taking Laura Ingraham's morning drive time slot and Ingraham being moved to 7-10 PM weeknights. Apparently the hard core KLO listeners don't like listening to anyone who isn't a part of Salem Radio's lineup, as live local talk was a huge flop on 1430. KLO's sentiment regarding Crenshaw's passing may be sincere, but to me it seems trite considering the controversy surrounding his dismissal.
