I think it might be more than just listener backlash (though I agree that's probably a component.) They likely listen to what advertisers want too. I know some people like Christmas music as soon as possible but it drives me batty. I'm not even considering it (or anything else Christmas) until at least after Thanksgiving. It's funny but Charles Schulz predicted this decades ago. 3.bp.blogspot.com/-eO2XTI2AneU/T4RLc6fN5KI/AAAAAAAABhE/r26geDAaW2Y/s1600/EasterBCXmas.pngYep. 42 years ago.

101.5 The Eagle (KEGA-FM) flipped to all Christmas music on Thanksgiving, so tune in if you're in the mood for a country Christmas!

KSRR also flipped sometime on Thursday or Friday. I checked midday on Thursday and there was dead air and when I next checked, on Friday, the switch had happened. So perhaps my check on Thursday happened to be right when hard drives were being swapped.

KANN (1120 AM) has joined the list of stations that have flipped to Christmas music 24/7. However, it's commercial free for the duration of the holidays, as with all SOS Network stations. Enjoy!

KBEE switched to all Christmas at about four o'clock today. KSFI is now commercial free for 100 hours. I am not sure of when that clock started. KSFI also seems to be running on full automation.

KSL AM-FM has apparently turned out the studio lights and flipped on the automation switch as well. I tuned in to 1160 this morning expecting to hear their usual Saturday morning programming, and instead heard the syndicated program Christmas Countdown. Apparently the folks at Broadcast House decided to get an early start on their Xmas celebration this year. Sure is nice to hear music on an AM 50 KW station again, if only for a couple days.

Purely speculation, but I would not be surprised if 101.5 flips to a non-Country format on Monday or Tuesday -- whenever Christmas music season officially ends. There was not a whole lot of country flavor in KEGA's Christmas mix. And it seemed like less and less as time went on.

Plus the whole 101.5 morning show switching to KUDD 105.1 That was strange to me? Also Anyone else notice 103.9 on the air simulcasting 105.1?

Well, I see from their Facebook feed that KEGA switched back to Country at 3 pm on Christmas day. I guess I should have checked their wall before posting.

With Christmas season over I've locked this thread. Post-Christmas talk should go in a new thread. Thanks.
