K225AP has applied to be sold to Sanpete County Broadcasting (see MidUtahRadio). The interesting part to me is Sanpete's plans for it. In the transfer application it's listed as translating KUTC Sky FM (93.7 Mount Pleasant) which according to Radio Locator it's already running. There's a second application looking to move the translator from east of Orem up to Lake Mountain and pointing almost all of its power north. In theory this wouldn't increase the coverage area, since the theoretical coverage area of the moved translator is short of the theoretical coverage area of the parent KUTC signal. However, as we know from K256AE (99.1 Provo), signals from Lake Mountain get out pretty darn well. That's the only reason I can think of why this would make sense. Anybody else have any theories?

I've noticed that often owners file and say a translator will broadcast one station, but end up broadcasting something totally different. So when I initially saw this, my thought was that maybe they would have it rebroadcast KWUT, or since K225AP was at one time supposed to move to 94.5, before U92 had plans to upgrade KUUU, that maybe they would use it to rebroadcast KLGL, since KADQ is supposed to become a Humpy rimshot at some point. I don't think rebroadcasting KLGL would happen though, the way both it and KVFX go back and forth as you head either direction. But this morning around 8ish, K225AP was rebroadcasting KUTC. personally, I would have just applied for a booster in Lehi similar to what millcreek did with KUDE. obviously I'm not an owner, and not saying that what I'm suggesting is possible, or that I've got all the facts. it just seems based on what I do know, that it might be doable. and they may leave it on 92.9 if KPUT doesn't go on the air.

Yep. The religious satellator groups are notorious for saying one thing and doing another. I haven't heard as much from commercial broadcasters, but it's possible.
If I were them, I'd put a directional booster on Lake Mountain (where they want K225AP to go) for all of the same reasons I talked about the translator going there, with the added benefit of the listener only needing to use one frequency. If it's properly synchronized it should be completely transparent.
