This doesn't surprise me at all. Wal-Mart in Harrisville started putting out Christmas decorations the end of September, and Smith's on 12th Street has had Christmas displays up for close to three weeks now. Every year the Christmas merchandising blitz starts earlier and earlier! In fact. I firmly believe that within the next five years, we'll see Christmas merchandise in the local stores no later than the week after Labor Day. Good Grief, KLGN is usually the first station in this area to flip to Christmas music 24/7, and even they hold off until the end of the first week in November. Sorry, but it's really hard for me to get the Ho-Ho-Ho spirit when it's still close to 80 degrees outside and we may not even have enough snow for the ski resorts in Ogden to open by Thanksgiving. Bah Humbug!

The article has been updated, but now I'm seeing that the Christmas stunt was apparently last night (Fri 24th). It was a temporary switch just for that occasion, not the full-on seasonal flip.
