The Movies! diginet has replaced Zuus Country on 30.2. Works for me.

They moved Zuus up to 30-3. So, we got MORE TV!

My stupid tuner didn't pick up on that. Maybe it's issues with dumb boxes that made them replace 30.2 instead of just adding 30.3 for Movies! Of course my tuner is stupider than a lot. Rescanning causes most of the channels to duplicate which creates all kinds of problems. *sigh*

Some tuners have a way to "replace", rather than just "add" channels. Others need a "hard rescan", where you disconnect the antenna, run a scan with no input, then unplug everything for a few minutes. Then, you re-connect the antenna and the power, and scan again.

I wish it was that simple. The tuner software just sucks.

The Movies! diginet has replaced Zuus Country on 30.2. Works for me. Great news, CA! Now if Comcast would just update its on screen program guide, I could tell what's on channel 106 without having to check on line. As of today (May 8th), good ol' Comcast still has the listings for Zuus Country instead of Movies! diginet. Oh well, they'll probably get around to fixing the program guide in a week or two . . . until then my remote is going to get a good workout.

So is channel 106 actually changed, and did they add the Zuus channel elsewhere?

So is channel 106 actually changed, and did they add the Zuus channel elsewhere? As near as I can tell, channel 106 on Comcast is now carrying the Movies! diginet programming; it's definitely not Zuus Country now. As I said, it's hard to tell exactly what's on 106 with the on screen program guide being incorrect. And since there's no annoying little icon in the lower right hand corner of the screen (something I really like), it's still kind of a mystery at this point. I can't tell for sure if Zuus Country went to another Comcast channel or if they just dumped it altogether, but it might have become part of the digital premium package that I don't subscribe to. UPDATE: Movies! is confirmed as having replaced Zuus Country on Comcast channel 106. They ID with the title of the movie and the Movies! logo for about 10 seconds after a commercial break, then the ID disappears. I wish all the cable channels would follow their lead instead of leaving their annoying little icons on all the time, but that's wishful thinking on my part. They did show a pretty decent Nicholson film called Goin' South this afternoon followed by an early '60's Dean Martin movie. Good stuff for us boomers to enjoy, especially when taking a sick day.

That actually makes sense. Correct me if I'm wrong (Ken?) but doesn't Comcast still use the off air feed from the broadcast stations to feed the cable system? They would just keep sending whatever is on 30.2 unless they went in and changed it.

The same glitch happened with the on screen programming guide when channel 104 dropped The Cool TV in favor of MeTV and when 113 started carrying COZI TV. It took a week or two before the programming guide was in sync with the on air content, so I imagine someone at Comcast will update the program guide when they find their "round tuit." :-)

AFAIK, most of the locals are fed to Comcast's head-end via fiber....but, a few are still OTA.

David, did the Comcast guide update? The listings through Excite TV changed their listings for channel 106, and I think they get their listings from Tribune.

David, did the Comcast guide update? The listings through Excite TV changed their listings for channel 106, and I think they get their listings from Tribune. No such luck, CA: the Comcast on screen program guide is still displaying the Zuus Country schedule. Comcast used to do a pretty decent job of advising its customers of changes in the channel line-up through its message system, but lately the only messages they seem to send out are pay per view advertisements and Comcast "now hiring" messages. So it looks like those of us who are still unfortunate enough to subscribe to cable will have to wait until the turtles at Comcast/Xfinity get off their butts and update the program guide for channel 106.

To be fair to Comcast, they didn't change the lineup. They're still running 30.2 on 106 just like they have for however long it's been. It was Nexstar who changed the lineup. Also, Comcast has little incentive to keep up with the broadcast channels since they don't make any money there. I'm sure they'll get around to it eventually, but it probably isn't a high priority.
