If you know your way around the FCC Website, do a search (under "AM Station Query") for KWDZ, then click on the results, and check the "Correspondence" folder, under "Imported Letters". There, you will find copies of all the old KALL Radio license records....dust and all, just like going back to 1919 "M" Street, and checking out their file folder.
Interesting bit of history.....I wonder how many other old stations have their files buried in those web files?

There's a lot of stuff that isn't there that should be. I've gone looking for stuff and haven't been able to find it. There isn't any rhyme or reason I can figure out.

Well, some time between 12:40 PM (when I went back to bed) and 3 AM this morning (when I checked on my little pocket radio), KWDZ-910......formerly KALL-910.....went silent.
BTW, if you monitored 910 for an EAS Assignment, you'll need to re-tune. We are going to monitor KNRS-570. Check with John Dehnel on any changes, so they get logged in the State EAS Plan. The new P-E-P is KSL-1160, which now has the direct FEMA feed to the Saltaire transmitter site.

Strange........they were still off the air at 7:00 AM this morning, but they are back on the air right now. (I was about to change my EAS monitoring when I noticed their signal).
They were planning to go silent at midnight last night, AFAIK.

I just curled up with my little radio last night, and heard them drop at midnight. No fanfare...just went silent.

I heard it too. I don't know who the engineer was who threw the switch, but kudos to whomever it was for actually doing it per FCC rules. They waited until right after the automation played a legal ID then dumped the carrier. (I don't think what they actually used was a proper legal ID, but it's close enough.)
I did hear some odd noise on that channel a few times a bit later on. It sounded like it might be some kind of all-digital transmission. Has anyone heard of any experiments being done with that frequency?

Danny Kramers format would sound pretty good on the HD side of 910 am.
