Someone needs to figure out the engineering on KOSY!! For a long time, their HD1 was horrible, very low bitrate sounding, like 24kbps mp3!... They fixed that recently and it was fine. Now, they don't have the delay on the analog side so when the tuner switches from analog to HD1 it's way behind. And if you're in a fringe area and the HD goes in and out, you can imagine the weirdness...
All the other HDs in the market sound fine and work! All the other CC HDs are fine! Why can't KOSY get their HD working right?

Why listen to HD at all. Most the FM counterparts sound better I think, well unless you want the HD2's. I like quality I guess, get tired of hearing audio that sounds like a bad MP3...But with the new Omnia box's starting to hit SL, Analog FM will only get better sounding..

Some HD Tuners don't have a way to force analog, so you have to listen to the HD1 instead of the analog FM. I like HD Radio for the additional channels, mostly. (Except that HD AM is nice for hearing AM without the constant buzzing and hum that the analog reception brings.)

I've been looking into getting a new car stereo and it'll likely have HD. While there is no need for it where I live, it would be nice to have it for when I travel, to explore all of the other better markets out there. I also like hearing AM HD via skywave KOA and KSL are frequent here.
