It's not news that some of the FM transmitters in Sirius satellite radio equipment is broadcasting at too high a power. What is news are the specifics about what they'll do about it per their agreement with the FCC.
"To meet the terms of the XM-Sirius merger agreement, Sirius XM Radio has sent a letter to Sirius subscribers explaining how to work around the too-high-powered FM transmitters in their receivers."
How many people do you think will actually do anything about this? A few probably will. I personally would at least do some checking. (I did do checking with my 3rd party units to make sure that the chances of interfering with someone else were very small, and as far as I know my unit is 100% legal.) In my opinion, the vast majority of people won't though.
